Who better to perform at halftime of the Saints Superbowl game for the Who Dats then the band The Who. Carrie Underwood had been chosen to sing the National Anthem. She won’t be alone in singing America’s praises. Queen Latifah will perform “America the Beautiful” before the game as I expect some loud jets to fly overhead as well.

Jefferson Parish officials have decided to temporally stop the red light camera program until they investigate the private company that manages the system. That’s very good news to those of us who have gotten tickets going through those intersections. While the intent of the red light cameras was to catch the abusers, critics say the motivation is a scam for the government to make more easy money.

I think it was an excellent idea to free up some officers from having to sit for hours to catch red light runners, when they could be protecting citizens from criminals. But somewhere along the way it got out of hand. I know a few people who were issued tickets and they were in the middle of the intersection when the light turned red. Now that’s being a little too picky. I thought the program was to catch the real abusers.  The one’s that come zooming through the intersection seconds after the light has turned red.

According to the National news reports our Saints have suddenly become the new Version of “America’s Team.”‘ Fans around the country have embraced the Saints as this year’s Sentimental favorite. Even President Barack Obama says he may have to cheer for the Saints because of what the city has been through recently.

For the AFC champion Colts, Safety Antoine Bethea said that there’s a reason America is Pulling for New Orleans, and why wouldn’t they? They’ve been through a lot. Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne grew up as Saints fans and Joseph Addai won a national championship at LSU and was in school when Katrina hit. Yes all would be rooting for the Saints but not this time.

I’m hearing so many emotional stories of what happen to them the second they knew the Kick was good and the Saints were in the Superbowl. My wife and I held hands as he kicked it and as soon as it went through we screamed, hugged, cried and got the champagne out the fridge and headed outside to celebrate with the neighborhood which was going crazy. Please share your story…

Since there are no Saints games this weekend,  Sunday night check out your favorite artists on the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. They usually have some good “Live” performances but this year something  extra special.  It will be the first major awards show to air a 3D segment during the broadcast on Channel 4.  It will be a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, with a screening of the 3D video for “Earth Song.” It was initially meant to be a centerpiece of Jackson’s “This Is It” tour and has never been shown to the public. Even Celine Dion is a part of it along with Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood and Usher. So how do I see 3D on my TV? Ya gotta get ya 3D glasses. They are
Free at all Target stores but don’t wear em driving home.  Now since we have the glasses already how bout making the Saints Superbowl game in 3D now that would be GREAT!

SUPER feeling

Posted in: Steve

There are alot of moments in your life that you will never forget. You’re wedding, having a baby but those moments are mostly shared by a few people. When the Saints kicked the winning field goal that sent them to the Superbowl the collective euphoria that spread all over the city from the Dome to the Quarter to the suburbs on the South shore to the North shore to every part of Louisiana was incredible. Shortly after the kick we heard booms outside and ran to the street at the same time as every neighbor on my street to see fireworks going off, hearing cars horns and alarms going off, people screaming from blocks away. Then the phones stared ringing from family and friends sharing their emotion. We don’t have many moments in our lives when we can all collectively share the same feelings and emotion which makes this unforgettable. I hugged my wife and got teary eyed not just because our Football team won but because the same people that shed tears after Katrina could cry tears of joy not just for the team but for themselves. Sticking around in rough times now share a feeling of survival, accomplishment, pride and hope that everything turning around for the better and we will after all… Finish Strong.

After 43 years the Saints are finally going to the Superbowl. Some of us are old enough to say we have actually waited that long, and for the ones that aren’t, I bet it seems like you did. After everything that has happened to this City and this area since Katrina, and a few of the other storms that caused devastation over the last 5 years , we deserve this. I have thought for quite some time now that this was our year.

With everything that happened in that game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Reggie Bush fumble of a punt that set the Vikings up for a sure score near the endzone. The passes that Dree Brees threw into coverage that could have been intercepted, the number of penalties that were call on the Saints, the 12 men on the field penality in the 4th quarter when the Vikings were setting up for a game winning field goal. And finally the interception by Tracy Porter that sent the game into overtime and the rest is history. Make no mistake this is the best Saints team ever, but I believe that divine intervention had something to do with us going to the Superbowl.

The question now is can divine intervention find a way for us to win it?  Is this truly our destiny? I believe it is.

Miami here we come…Who Dat…Go Saints, beat the Colts.

Like everybody it’s hard to hold in my excitement for the Saints but since we talking more about the team and players this week I’m getting a little hyped up over the hype. I don’t know how Sports talkers like Bobby Hebert can take caller after caller after caller on their sports show asking the same questions over and over. Does he ever get tired of saying … We have to take care of the football, We have to establish the running game, they have to stop the big play , They need to dominate the line of scrimmage., they have to stick to their game plan. And what about the player interviews? How many times do we have to hear…”We need to bring our A game”, “The team that doesn’t turnover the ball over wins” We have to take it one game at a time.” We need to give 110 percent, we’ll see who want it more.” “We have to play a full 60 minutes.” Let’s play the game already… GO SAINTS

SAINTS

Posted in: Johnny

Will history be made this Sunday? Can the Saints do what the fans have been hoping and praying for over 40 years now. Get to the Super Bowl and win it.

The Saints are one of only a few teams left that have never played in a Superbowl. I’ve always thought since midway though this season that there was something unique and special about this team. The way they found a way to win when it looked like there was no way they could win. Winning games even though there were a number of key starters out with injuries. And the confidence and attitude that no one can beat us, in my opinion has given this Saints team a very good chance to get to the Superbowl and possibly win it.

Can you imagine what Mardi Gras will be like around here if the Saints win the Superbowl?  We’ll have to get past a very good Vikings team first.

Go Saints…..Who Dat!!!!!
