New Orleans own Ellen DeGeneres is leaving the judges’ table on American Idol and  Jennifer Lopez wants the job. Ellen says she told Idol producers and Fox two months ago that the show wasn’t the right fit for her, and she wanted to leave. She says while she loves “discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent,” it was hard for her “to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.” As for Jennifer Lopez, a source says she’s close to signing on as the replacement. Lopez has appeared as a mentor on “American Idol.” As a judge, she would come to the show with first-hand knowledge of the music business. That’s something some had complained Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t have.

Nearly two weeks after BP finally capped the biggest oil spill in U.S. history, the oil slicks that once spread across thousands of miles of the Gulf of Mexico have largely disappeared.

This is what we have been used to seeing for 3 months.

This is what the Gulf looks like now after over 100 days of oil leaking into the ocean.

So where did the oil go? Environmentalists say it just evaporated, or maybe it was the work of the mighty oil eating microbes, natures way doing what BP should have done.

TOP 5 THINGS TO DO ON AN OILY BEACH

1. Ride a 2 mile Slip ‘N Slide
2. Sing “Valvoline, why can’t you be true”
3. Only use a black beach towel
4. Use the oil to draw boundary lines for beach volleyball
5. Build a tar castle
