Some months ago when we first learned of a swine flu outbreak, health officials went to work on developing a vaccine to combat the epidemic. Now months later we have the vaccine, but only in short supply, or is there really a short supply? They’re constantly reminding us of how safe the vaccine is, and to make sure we get it, yet there is a shortage. Parents of young children are reluctant to the idea, and hospital and health care workers refused to get it, and the people I’ve talked don’t want it. So why do we have a shortage?

Remember these phrases: This is your last chance; Going out of business sale; This offer is only good if you call in the next 30 minutes; We only have 10 left to sell.

If you want to create an urgency for something, make people believe they have to act NOW, or that there’s a shortage of something.
